Holy Day of Obligation

On Saturday December 8th we celebrate the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary. This is a Holy Day of Obligation.  There will be a Vigil Mass at 4:30pm Friday December 7th and 8:00am and 10:00am December 8th. All Catholics are bound by conscience and obligated to attend Mass on this day. This means that one must attend Mass on both Saturday and Sunday. The evening Mass(4:30pm) on Saturday is for Sunday and does not count for the Immaculate Conception. Mary, our Immaculate Mother, is patroness of the United States of America and the Archdiocese of Mobile.
