American Red Cross Blood Drive

Volunteers are needed to help coordinate and recruit parishioners for our annual blood drive.

Kim Dunne, 445-6719

Angel Tree Adopt-a-Family

Each Christmas, parishioners have the opportunity to "adopt" a needy family by picking their envelope from the Christmas tree in the narthex.  The envelope contains a list of needed gifts that the sponsor buys and returns to the parish.  Organizers of this annual charity coordinate with Catholic Social Services and also store and deliver the items.

Theresa Whelan, 476-6919

Little Sisters of the Poor Lawn Party

This multi-parish event raises money each October for the Little Sisters of the Poor.  St. Ignatius parishioners contribute by making home-made candy and selling it at the lawn party.

Helen Ollinger, 344-5357

Lenten Fish Fry

Every other Friday in Lent the parish holds a family-centered fish fry.  Help is always needed to setup, cook, and clean.  Other volunteers are needed to plan fun activities for younger children.

Adult Supper Club

The parish is trying to establish a regular schedule for adults to share a meal and socialize.  Organizing the event includes advertising, taking reservations, and decorating the Marian Center, where the supper is held.

St. Vincent de Paul Society

Members of this charitable organization are dedicated to helping the poor in our immediate area.  They use donations to provide food and financial assistance to the needy.

Stephen Ministry

The Stephen Ministry is a national program that trains people to provide one-on-one, Christ-centered counseling and prayer in times of crisis or distress.  Stephen Ministers go through an extensive training process that gives them the skills they need to lend an empathetic ear to people dealing with troubling life issues.

Development

Catholic Charities Appeal

St. Ignatius is a generous supporter of this annual diocesan appeal, which is successful because of the commitment of St. Ignatius parishioners to those in need, and because of the large number of volunteers who make phone calls to parishioners reminding them to pledge to this important cause.  Volunteers also handle the paperwork and produce the written reports required by the diocese.

John & Vivian Sheldon, 414-9792

Stewardship Committee

Volunteer to help with our annual Stewardship Renewal.  Members will help the pastor to create a "stewardship culture" at St. Ignatius by educating parishioners about the importance of Christian stewardship.  They will also help to follow-up with parishioners' Time & Talent commitments.

Kim Dunne, 445-6719

Impala Gala

Volunteer to assist with this annual fundraising event coordinated by the Impala Gala Committee, with the proceeds going to enhance the school by covering the cost of some “non-recurring” expenses.

Prudence Graham, 380-0844; Sue Eways, 602-5866

Grant Writing and Research

Volunteer to assist development director with researching and writing grants for programs available to Catholic organizations.

Kim Dunne, 445-6719

Buildings & Grounds

Buildings & Grounds Volunteer

The church grounds and facilities are in need of constant attention.  Parishioners may volunteer to work with the maintenance staff to help repair facilities and begin new projects.

Greg Vetter , 401-9114

Parish Work Day

The parish is trying to establish an annual Work Day in the spring or summer.  Individuals and families will spruce up the church and school grounds by picking up trash, cleaning flower beds, laying pine straw, etc.
