Tutor

Tutors provide one-on-one help to children who need special attention in a specific academic area.  This includes listening to children read, showing flashcards, etc.

Story Readers

Instill the love of books in our younger children by volunteering to read stories in the classroom a few times a month.

Classroom Assistants / Substitute Teacher

Faculty members need help with special projects and paper work, and also with monitoring the classroom.

Cafeteria Helper

Parishioners may assist with serving lunches in the  cafeteria during lunchtime.

Office Assistant

For an hour in the morning (8:00 to 9:00 a.m.) and an hour in the afternoon (2:00 to 3:00 p.m.) volunteers are needed in the school office to answer phones, assist with the daily lunch count, help with school mailings, etc.

Social Activities

Parish Picnic

Help organize and assist at this event usually held in the fall.

Parish Receptions volunteer

Assist with special events, ranging in scale from simple to elaborate.

Loyola Club

Assist with planning events and activities for parishioners 50 years and older.

Altar Flowers

Women of the parish beautify the altar area by ensuring that flowers are properly placed and tended.  They keep a calendar of families who donate flowers, and meet the florist on Saturdays to make sure the flowers are properly arranged.  They trim and water the flowers periodically throughout the week.  They also make special arrangements for funerals.

Bereavement Committee

This committee ministers to those who are grieving the death of a loved one.  They pray for the deceased, make phone calls to the family, and  give general support to those who are grieving.

Food Committee

This group will provide meals for families who are in a special time of need, such as after the death of a loved on or during hospitalization.

Hospitality Committee

Greeters make people feel welcomed as they enter the church for special celebrations such as funeral visitations or other events during which a large number of non-parishioners visit St. Ignatius.

Spiritual Growth Committee

The Ladies Guild has a special committee that plans retreats and other prayerful activities for all members of the Guild.

Church Gardening Committee

Assist with beautifying parish grounds.  Includes watering, planting and light landscaping.

Coffee & Doughnuts After Mass

Every three months, parishioners gather after Mass to have a cup of coffee and socialize.  Help is needed with planning and serving.
