Text Box: As we begin this New Year and look forward to all of the many great things that await us in the coming months, I would like to take this time to thank God and you, the members of St. Ignatius, for a wonderful year. Our two missions with the Fathers of Mercy went very well. We began some wonderful programs for religious instruction for adults; Faith on Tap and the Great Adventure Bible Timeline Bile studies. Our stewardship campaign of Time, Talent and Treasure was very successful, and the Chapel of Our Lady of Mercy in the rectory has been refurbished and is just simply beautiful. Our school continues to set a standard for excellence in both faith and academics, and we continue to see improvements to our physical plant that is made possible by the hard work of our dedicated maintenance staff. There are so many other things that could be mentioned but space is limited, and so again a great thank you to all who do so much for the greater glory of God.

In the New Year we are also looking forward to a number of exciting things including the annual Catholic Charities Appeal that will kick-off in the next week or two, as well as the continuation of the Faith on Tap series and Bible studies. Catholic Schools Week will be observed at the end Text Box: of the month and is a fine time to celebrate the difference that a Catholic education makes in our lives and the lives of our students. This year our preschool, which has been a separate program from our school, will once again be a part of our school program, not only academically, but administratively and physically as well. Work will begin this month to refurbish the music and art building which was the former location of the preschool and make it once again the site of our preschool. With this move complete, we will then have all of our facilities on one campus making them more secure and user-friendly for both parents and students.

All of these good things and more happen because parishioners like you step forward and help to bring them about. In fact, this parish exists in order that we might grow closer to God and His Holy Catholic Church through a life rich in His love through the Sacraments, prayer and good deeds. By God’s grace we are called to form a community of faith, hope and love, in fact, all that we do here at St. Ignatius is aimed at that goal. We are called to become holy and to help others become holy as well. Text Box: Everything that we do here whether they appear great or small, whether they seem important or insignificant are all directed toward the goal of growth in sanctity. I would like that we keep this in mind as we continue to accomplish the many different projects that awaits us in the New Year, so that we never forget: Omnia ad maiorem Dei gloriam. We do all things for the greater Text Box: Pastor’s Corner—
