Text Box: Holy Father, keep them in your name which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one. This prayer spoken by Our Lord in the Gospel of St John 17:11 is known as the priestly prayer of Jesus. He prays that we might be one in Him just as He and the Father are one. This prayer highlights God’s desire that we be one with each other in God. This is what it means to be a community-a family; to be in communion with God and one another. It is God’s grace that allows this to happen, and our cooperation with His grace ensures that the good work He has begun in us will reach completion. We have Text Box: many different ways to put this into action at St. Ignatius. We are God’s family and a community of faith that is being built up each day into his living image. One particular example of this unity in the work of faith is found in the relationship between the parish and school; we are one family engaged in the same mission of spreading the Kingdom of God to all. The school is a treasure for the parish and a rich example of our desire to bring many souls to Christ and His Church. The parish therefore nurtures and sustains our school and benefits from the participation of parents and Text Box: families in the liturgical, social, and communal life of the parish. This relationship of unity truly then will exemplify what is meant in the Creed that we pray Sunday after Sunday-We believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I also believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic St. Ignatius parish and school. Many have said to me that they can see this happening right before our eyes, and this is wonderful. However, we have more work to do, and I am very excited about this new year and all of the possibilities that are ahead of us.
Text Box: Have you noticed how great our campus looks! Thanks to the tireless efforts of Greg Vetter, his staff and many volunteers, St. Ignatius received a summer facelift. Hours of hard work in the heat gave us :
1. Brand new classrooms for 6th graders in Xavier hall, allowing all middle school classes to be housed in one building

Text Box: 2. Great progress on the Chapel renovations, to be completed this fall

3. New paint and roof for the Frassatti Center
4. Installation of new playground equipment
5. Revitalized landscaping around the church grounds
6. A repaved back parking lot
7. Updated paint and upholstery for the Marian Text Box: Center
These enhancements are just the beginning! Future plans include extending the covered walkway, fencing the playground and refurbishing many of the patio areas around campus just to name a few. The Buildings and Grounds committee, chaired by Paul Russell, is working on some exciting projects you can look forward to hearing about.
