Stewardship of Treasure

The chart below describes how your gifts of treasure are directed for the betterment of our the St. Ignatius community.

Catholic Church

Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam

“Stewardship of treasure is not about giving to a need; rather a need to give.  The results of this need to give allow us to build up the Body of Christ at our parish. “

Rev. Stephen E. Martin, Pastor

What are our plans for the future?
These include a plan to move toward total stewardship as a reflection of our commitment to the Catholic faith. The reason that we are here as a parish is to grow closer to God. Anything that promotes that is good and whatever distracts us from that is bad.  As part of this commitment, we must care for the facilities that we use to accomplish this growth in faith. Specifically we are hoping to refurbish the sanctuary, upgrade the church sound system, refurbish the upstairs of the rectory, and build a parish hall for large parish events.

What is the role of the Archdiocese in the allocation of funds?
Each parish of the Archdiocese must pay 5% of its income to the general fund of the Archdiocese for the maintenance of the curia or the archdiocesan offices. This is a line item in the budget and is paid over the year. Also, 1.5% of income is contributed to the Priests’ retirement fund. There is also a policy of the Archdiocese that all expenditures over $5,000 must be approved verbally by the archbishop or the chancellor. Any expenditure over $10,000 must be approved in writing by the archbishop.
