"Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted." -Matthew 5:4

Caring Friends is a grief group that offers support and comfort to those mourning the loss of a loved one.

We meet weekly, and have coffee, hot tea, a sweet treat and welcoming arms and smiles.  Each new person that visits us is given the book, Healing After Loss, by Martha Whitmore Hickman, that has daily readings that are quite often discussed during our meetings.

Our goal is to encourage one another on this journey and to be ever mindful of the personal and private suffering of all.  As a group, we are also praying for the 10th grade confirmation class at St. Ignatius each week as part of our mission to be responsible and involved members of St. Ignatius Parish.

Some in our group have been widowed for several years and some much more recently.  At this time, we are working on a way to offer this to our many new young widows with no such support group and are unable to attend the morning meeting.
