Joe Seiter Makes First Vows to the Jesuits

Joe Seiter, S.J. recently made perpetual vows of poverty, chastity and obedience, to the Jesuit Order. He made his vows at the 2021 Vow Mass of the USA Central and Southern (UCS) Province of the Society of Jesus.  The Mass was held August 14, at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Grand Coteau, La.

Pictured is Very Rev. Thomas P. Green, S.J., Provincial, receiving Joe’s vows. In Jesuit nomenclature, Joe is now a Scholastic, meaning that he will be proceeding with studies toward his eventual ordination. In the Fall, Joe will be attending Fordham University where he will study philosophy.

Joe is the son of Larry and Melinda Seiter. He attended St. Ignatius Catholic School and McGill-Toolen Catholic High School prior to entering the seminary.
